Phosphomolybdic Acid Hydrate

Introduction

Phosphomolybdic acid hydrate is dodecylmolybdophosphoric acid with formula of H3PO4•12MoO3 or 24MoO3•P2O5•3H2O and shows color of light yellow and orange yellow. It can dissolute in water, ethanol and ether, and corrosive. Its CAS number is 51429-74-4, melting point 78~90℃ and density 1.62g/cm3. This acid is used to test CO because the color will change to blue when react with CO.
