Introduction

Ferrous metal refers to iron, chromium, manganese, titanium, vanadium and their alloys, steel, cast iron, iron alloys and cast steel. Pure iron and chromium are silver white, and manganese is silver grey.

Ferrous Metal Output

Accounts for 95% of world metal

Application

Iron and steel smelting

Iron, Ferro, Fe

Iron is a metal element with atomic number of 26. It accounts for 4.75% of the earth's crust. The color of pure iron is white, and the surface is always black because its oxidization. There are many ores including iron, hematite, magnetite, siderite, pyrite, etc. The properties of iron ore are good ductility, conductivity, thermal conductivity, and magnetic. Iron is widely used to make magnets, iron and steel smelting and alloys.

Manganese, Mn

Manganese is a kind of transition metal with atomic number of 25 and molecular weight of 54.94. It can produced from pyrolusite. Pure manganese is with color of gray white and easily oxidized in wet. The main applications are to manufacture stainless steel, special alloy steel, and stainless steel electrode. Among them, Mn is used as additive in steel, in order to improve the properties of strength, hardness, ductility and abrasive.

Chromium, Cr

Chromium is gray. It is origins from color, and its chemicals are all colorful. The atomic number is 24 and molecular weight 51.996. The main uses are to make Chromium steel and Chromium silicon alloy. Its additive can improve the stainless property of steel.

Vanadium, V

Vanadium is silver gray with atomic number of 23 and molecular weight of 50.941. The V metal is hard, malleable, non-magnetic and corrosion resistant. It is found when other metals are produced. It can improve properties of steel, including ductility, strength and bursting resistance. The main applications are automobile, aviation, railway, electronic technology, defense, etc. The metal is malleable, hard, non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant. It is not oxidized in air and soluble in hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid and aqua regia. Vanadium is a byproduct of processing other minerals. Vanadium can improve the elasticity, strength, default calculation and bursting resistance of steel. It is widely used in automobile, aviation, railway, electronic technology, national defense and other industries.

Titanium, Ti

Titanium is silver white transition metal, with atomic number of 22 and molecular weight of 47.867. The reserve of Ti is rich in titanium iron ore, rutile. Titanium dioxide can be used to make white pigment, titanium tetrachloride catalyst and titanium trichloride catalyst for polypropylene.
