Tungsten Bucking Bars
Introduction
Tungsten bucking bars are also called tungsten rivet blocks, tungsten riveting bucking bars and tungsten bucking kits. They are tools used in aircraft maintenance and used with rivet guns to finish riveting operations. Designed according to the principle of ergonomics, bucking bars reduce vibration and kickback while riveting in aircraft operations.
Materials
Bucking bars are manufactured from alloy steel or tungsten alloy materials, but tungsten alloy is the most popular material for this product. Tungsten, over twice as dense as normal steel, absorbs the shock, allowing you to rivet more effectively for a longer period of time. Besides, the blocks provide increased weight for small volume to allow riveting in confined areas. The weight to size ratio provides a good kinetic energy transfer to expedite the rivet installation process.
Shapes
They come in many different shapes and sizes, which to be used depend upon the material, location and accessibility of the rivet to be driven.
