Tungsten Hexachloride – WCl6

Tungsten hexachloride is a black crystal with slight blue purple, which is used in glass, automobile, etc. The production method is reaction of tungsten powder and chloride. However, if reaction is mixed with moisture and oxygen, the chemical will easy react into tungsten tetrachloride and tungsten dichloride. It is widely used in glass and automobile industry to be as catalyst and surface coating.
